Mauna Kea Tea offers a 2.5-hour immersive tour on Hawaii Island that begins with a walk through native Ohia tree forest to the tea fields. Surrounded by native forest and fruit trees, guests observe tea plant growth, learn tea picking basics, and may see wild orchids, seasonal flowers, fruits, and farm animals.
The experience includes a premium tea tasting described as a casual, guided traditional Japanese-style tea ceremony. Participants learn simple steps to appreciate tea using their senses, emphasizing presence and attention to aroma and flavor.
The farm is rustic with gravel, uneven, and sometimes steep walking paths. There is no wifi or cellular service, encouraging a deeper connection with nature and natural farming.
