Begin your journey at the Wat Lao Buddhist Temple in Hauula with a warm Oli Aloha chant welcoming you to this cultural adventure. Arrive by 3:45 pm to check in and follow posted signs to the setup location at 53-100 Puhuli Street.
From 4:00 pm, engage in immersive cultural activities including preparing the traditional Hawaiian-style “Imu” rock oven, wrapping fish in ti leaves, and salting with tradition. Learn to weave Ti leaf lei and pound Kalo into authentic Poi while exploring the concepts of Malama Aina and Aloha Aina.
At 5:30 pm, enjoy a luau dinner featuring Kalua Pork, Fresh Poke, Sweet Hawaiian Rolls, Squid Luau, Fruit Salad, Mixed Greens Salad, and Rice. Following dinner at 6:00 pm, participate in drumming and a hands-on fire knife experience. The event concludes around 6:30 pm.
