Your adventure begins at Maui Sunriders bike shop in Paia, where you’ll receive gear and a safety briefing before a narrated van tour up Haleakala. Marvel at local history and points of interest as you ascend. Upon reaching the 6,500-foot mark, your downhill ride commences, offering unparalleled vistas of Maui’s landscapes.
Experience the thrill of biking through the upper switchback section not once, but twice! With roadside assistance readily available, your safety is our priority. After the ride, explore Makawao town on foot, indulging in local cuisine and shopping opportunities.
Equipment Provided:
- Front-Suspension Single-Speed Mountain Bikes with disc brakes
- Downhill full-face helmets & optional lightweight bike helmets
- Rain & wind gear, cold-weather gloves, backpack with lock and weatherproof road map
Suggestions:
- Dress in light layers for varying temperatures
- Wear closed-toe shoes and sunglasses
- Bring sunscreen, camera, and cash for meals and shopping
Guidelines:
- Minimum age 15 years old, minimum height 4′ 11′

We had a bit of hiccup at pearl harbor, when waiting for the tour they had a glitch in the system and we did not receive our standby text. We had been waiting 3 hours to go to out to the memorial. It was time to leave, but Austin was extremely accommodating and made sure that we got to experience the memorial. This tour does not schedule a time for the memorial tour and you do have to wait. Make a reservation!! Highly suggest asking for Austin!
