The Hi’iaka Standard Dinner & Show is a 3-hour Broadway-scale production that brings to life the epic tale of Hi’iaka, the younger sister of the volcano goddess Pele. This award-winning performance combines storytelling, music, and dance to depict a tale of loyalty, betrayal, and resilience.

Experience Timeline and Activities

The experience begins with guest check-in at 5:15 PM during winter hours (October 1 – May 31). Cultural activities take place from 5:15 to 6:15 PM at the amphitheater and luʻau lawn. VIP and standard food stations open between 5:30 and 5:45 PM, with food service closing at 7:15 PM. The main show starts at 7:30 PM and concludes by 9:00 PM. Summer hours (June 1 – September 30) have slightly later times, with the show ending at 9:30 PM.

Story and Production

The legend begins when Pele falls into a trance-sleep and her spirit travels to Kauaʻi, where she falls in love with the chief Lohiʻau. Upon waking, Pele sends Hi’iaka on a quest to retrieve Lohiʻau and bring him back. Accompanied by magical companions, Hi’iaka faces many challenges in this dramatic tale.
