The Bird Tour

The Bird Tour at Na ‘Āina Kai Botanical Gardens, Kauai

This seasonal walking tour explores habitats of Kauai’s native birds at Na ‘Āina Kai Botanical Gardens. Visitors can observe Laysan Albatross during nesting season, including their mating dances, nest building, and chick care. The garden is home to critically endangered Hawaiian goose (nene) and Hawaiian moorhen, both nesting on-site.

Other bird species include red-footed boobies, tropicbirds, great frigate birds, and Pacific golden-plover. The tour accesses special areas not included in other tours and is limited to 6 guests per guide. Closed-toe shoes are recommended, and participants must be age 13 or older. A 48-hour notice is required for cancellations or changes.
