The garden is home to critically endangered Hawaiian goose (nene) and Hawaiian moorhen, both nesting on-site.
Other bird species include red-footed boobies, tropicbirds, great frigate birds, and Pacific golden-plover. The tour accesses special areas not included in other tours and is limited to 6 guests per guide. Closed-toe shoes are recommended, and participants must be age 13 or older. A 48-hour notice is required for cancellations or changes.
