SCUBA refresher course overview

The SCUBA refresher course in Hilo is designed to help certified divers regain confidence and skills before diving again. This course includes 1.5 hours of pool training at 1717 Kamehameha Ave., Hilo, HI 96720, led by experienced divemasters and instructors from Hilo Ocean Adventures.

Course content and skills practiced

During the refresher, you will practice assembling your gear, performing predive safety checks, mask removal and replacement, emergency weight drop, neutral buoyancy and hovering, alternate air source use, and controlled ascent. You can also review any other underwater skills you wish to practice to ensure a safe dive experience.

Additional information

After completing the refresher, you can book a shore or boat dive to explore Hilo’s fantastic dive sites suitable for beginners and advanced divers. Note that completing your eLearning and paperwork before attending is required to receive a new certification card. If paperwork is incomplete, it will reduce class time and incur an additional $50 fee.
