Explore the Pelagic Night Dive in Waianae
The Pelagic Night Dive offers an extraordinary opportunity to dive in the deep dark sea off Waianae, Hawaii. This 3-hour dive begins just before sunset at Waianae Small Boat Harbor. Participants watch the sunset en route to a dive site approximately 2000 feet deep.
Once the sun sets, divers jump in and float tethered in the abyss, usually not descending below 50 feet. The dive is conducted in small groups with a maximum of 8 divers, allowing an intimate and focused experience. Divers can witness tiny bioluminescent organisms that appear like light and rainbows, as well as colorful jellies and other bizarre marine creatures that seem alien.
Unique Nighttime Marine Life
This dive is considered one of the most extreme and captivating, as it reveals zooplankton and other sea life that only surface to feed in darkness. The Pelagic Night Dive provides a rare chance to drift peacefully along a current line in the Pacific Ocean and observe the vibrant life of the deep sea at night.
Operated by Dolphin Divers, this dive is a specialized experience for adventurous divers seeking to explore the black abyss and its glowing inhabitants in a safe, guided setting.
