Experience one of Hawaii’s oldest ocean traditions by paddling a traditional Hawaiian outrigger canoe through Kalapaki Bay. Guided by an experienced local steersman, this 45-minute adventure combines the excitement of surfing, the spirit of teamwork, and the culture of old Hawai‘i.

Meet your steersman at Kauai Beach Boys on Kalapaki Beach 5–10 minutes before departure for check-in and orientation. Paddle as a team through the bay, learning outrigger canoe basics. Depending on ocean conditions, catch and ride waves back to shore together. Return with lasting memories and photos of this authentic Hawaiian experience.

Location: Kauai Beach Boys / Da Life Outdoor Gear at Kalapaki Beach, next to Duke’s Restaurant at the Royal Sonesta Kauai Resort.

Restrictions: Ages 6 and older, participants must be able to swim and actively paddle. Minimum group size of 2.

What to bring: Reef-safe mineral sunscreen, secure prescription glasses with a retaining strap if needed.
