The Maunakea Summit & Stars Giveback Experience combines conservation work with an awe-inspiring summit adventure. This 9 to 10-hour tour begins with a visit to a rare and endangered native dry forest habitat on the slopes of Maunakea, where guests participate in seed collection to help restore the native forest.

Conservation and Cultural Engagement

Guests learn about the Waikoloa Dry Forest Initiative, a non-profit dedicated to revitalizing critical Hawaiian habitats. A portion of each ticket supports this conservation effort. After the restoration activity, the tour ascends to Maunakea’s summit, the highest point in the Pacific, to enjoy a warm picnic dinner and a spectacular Hawaiian sunset.

Stargazing and Night Sky Exploration

The evening continues with a private star show featuring a high-powered telescope. Guests can view deep space objects through a state-of-the-art digital telescope and share captured images of the Hawaiian night sky with friends and family. Warm wear including hooded parkas and gloves are provided for comfort.
