Maui Wild Boar Hunting Adventure
Maui wild boar hunting is a traditional Hawaiian experience that takes you deep into the island’s most pristine mountain areas. This adventure lasts between 6 to 8 hours, starting early at 5:30 a.m., and involves tracking wild pigs using expert knowledge and highly trained dogs.
Traditional Hawaiian Hunting Methods
The hunt is conducted using only dogs and knives or spears, following a cultural tradition that emphasizes balance with the environment. The wild pigs are 100% wild, not fenced or fed, providing an authentic hunting experience.
What to Expect and Requirements
Participants will walk through lush fern country rarely visited by locals. The hunt is physically demanding, requiring the ability to walk four miles comfortably. Muck boots, a blazing orange t-shirt, and a backpack with lunch, water, first aid kit, headlamp, and rain gear are provided.
Licensing and Safety
Hunters must be at least 10 years old, have a Hawaii State Hunting License, and proof of completing a hunter safety course. This ensures a safe and responsible hunting experience.
