The Lei Po’o Making Workshop in Kauai offers a 2-hour hands-on experience crafting a traditional Hawaiian flower crown. Guests explore the lei garden and learn about native plants used in lei making.
$65.00
The lei po’o making workshop takes place in the beautiful lei garden at Common Ground Kauai. This 2-hour experience invites guests to connect deeply with Hawaiian lei traditions by crafting their own lei po’o, a flower crown worn on the head.
Participants enjoy a guided walk through the lei garden, learning about native and traditional plants used in lei making, including how and when they are gathered. The workshop includes in-depth education on lei plants and materials, with time for questions and observation.
Under the lei tent, guests receive step-by-step instruction on multiple lei making techniques using freshly harvested materials. Each participant leaves with their handmade lei po’o and a deeper appreciation for the cultural significance of lei.
The workshop is held in an open-air environment requiring walking on unpaved areas. Drinks and bar options are available for purchase. Check-in is at 8:45 AM, and comfortable clothing is recommended.
