Kona Snorkeling Beat the Crowd Tour at Kealakekua Bay
The Kona Snorkeling Beat the Crowd tour is a 5-hour weekday adventure designed to provide guests with a less crowded snorkeling experience at Kealakekua Bay Marine Preserve. Check-in is at 9:45am, Monday through Friday.
Tour Highlights and Schedule
This tour replicates the award-winning 4-hour AM or PM adventure but is timed to avoid peak crowds of 300-400 people. Upon arrival, guests receive a briefing and can snorkel as long as they like in the bay’s crystal-clear, calm waters.
Lunch and Additional Activities
After snorkeling, the crew serves lunch while the captain shares the history of Kealakekua Bay and the Captain Cook monument. Guests then have additional time for snorkeling before embarking on a coastal tour featuring sea caves, lava tubes, blowholes, and marine wildlife such as spinner dolphins, manta rays, and turtles.
Included Gear and Restrictions
- All snorkel gear including high-quality silicone masks, Rx masks, fins, float boards, or vests
- Detailed snorkeling instruction
Due to the ride’s bouncy nature, this tour is not suitable for guests with back or neck problems or pregnant women.
