Explore the Wailua River & Secret Falls on Your Own
Enjoy a 5-8 hour kayak rental on the historic Wailua River with effortless water access and complimentary private parking near Wailua River State Park. Paddle approximately 2 miles upstream with stunning mountain views, including the iconic Sleeping Giant.
After kayaking, embark on a moderately rated rainforest hike just under 1 mile to reach the beautiful Uluwehi Falls, also known as Secret Falls. The trail may be muddy and includes a stream crossing, so water shoes or sport sandals are recommended. At the falls, you can swim, take photos, and enjoy a relaxing picnic before returning by kayak.
- Rental pickup available Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM
- All equipment must be returned by 4:00 PM
- Wailua River State Park charges a $5 per-person entry fee
- Restrictions: No pregnancy, children under 5, recent surgeries, or certain medical conditions
