This 3-hour walking tour explores Kapiʻolani Park, one of Hawaiʻi’s earliest public parks, beginning at Kaimana Beach and concluding in front of the Honolulu Zoo. The tour includes 4-5 stops, each lasting 20-30 minutes in shaded, comfortable areas with picnic tables or grass seating.
Guests will hear stories spanning from ancient Hawaiʻi, acknowledging King Kamehameha I, through the Hawaiian Kingdom’s establishment, illegal overthrow, and beyond. The tour uses pictures and media to contrast past and present, offering a unique opportunity to step into history.
The goal is to increase knowledge of Hawaiʻi’s history, successes, and challenges, encouraging guests to share these stories after their visit.
