Honolua Ridgeline Hike: A Conservation Experience
Located in West Maui above the Kapalua resort area, this hike provides unparalleled access to an exclusive trail ascending the Honolua Ridgeline. The journey passes through the Maunalei Arboretum and ends at a lookout with panoramic views of the Pu’u Kukui Watershed Preserve.
Along the way, hikers learn about Hawaii’s rich flora, fauna, and extraordinary history. Adventure seekers can swing from vines on one of Maui’s largest Banyan trees and explore a historic coffee farm. The trail is 2 miles roundtrip with several stops and is suitable for all ages.
Guides are local Maui residents with deep knowledge of the island. Public tours run Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 9:00 am, with private tours available daily at 8:30 am and 1:00 pm.
