Hammerhead Shark Search

Depart from Honokōhau Harbor at 7:00am for a snorkel trip focused on encountering sharks off the Kona coast. This trip targets species such as schooling scalloped hammerheads and migratory oceanic white tips.

Included are mask, snorkel, fins, assorted snacks, and refreshments. The trip returns by 12pm with a scenic coastal cruise back to the harbor.

Shark Interactions

Potential encounters include oceanic white tips, silkies, scalloped hammerheads, sandbars, Galapagos, oceanic blacktips, tiger sharks, and grey reef sharks. Wildlife sightings vary with ocean conditions and no animal encounters are guaranteed.

• Arrive 15 minutes before departure
• Parking near restrooms between boat ramps on north side of Honokōhau Harbor
• No bathroom onboard; please use facilities before departure
• Bring reef-safe sunscreen (mineral based), hat, sunglasses, sun-protective shirt, warm layer, and camera or GoPro if desired
