Full Experience Paragliding Adventure in Kula

The Full Experience paragliding adventure combines a tandem flight with a certified USHPA instructor and a one-hour paragliding lesson. This unique activity requires no prior experience and is designed for participants aged 14 and older who are physically able to run and weigh less than approximately 250 lbs.

Hike and Flight Details

The adventure begins with a 30-minute hike from the landing zone up the side of Mount Haleakala through Kaonoulu Ranch pasture land to the Echos launch site at 4,500 feet elevation. The hike follows a paved road and gains 1,000 feet in elevation. Both you and your instructor carry 23-pound backpacks during the hike, providing a good morning workout with increasingly spectacular views.

After reaching the launch site, you will enjoy a beautiful tandem paragliding flight lasting approximately 4 minutes back down to the landing zone. This flight offers a peaceful, motor-free experience where you simply run down the hill and soar like a bird.

Solo Paragliding Lesson

Following the tandem flight, you will move to the training hill for your first hour of solo pilot lessons. During this session, you will learn how to inflate and launch the wing, control it overhead, and safely flare and land. If conditions allow, you may even experience some true solo flight time.
