Begin your journey at Kaumana Caves, part of the lava tube system that once brought lava dangerously close to downtown Hilo. Then, venture into Hawaii Volcanoes National Park to witness the aftermath of the 2018 eruption.

Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the native bird calls before embarking on a three-mile hike along the Halema’uma’u trail. Traverse ancient forests of tree ferns, spotting native birds along the way. Marvel at the colossal boulders and marks left by previous visitors, including notable figures like Mark Twain.

Reach the floor of Kilauea Caldera and witness the dramatic changes wrought by the 2018 eruption. Climb Byron Ledge for sweeping views of the caldera floor and Pu’u Pua’i.
