Bareboat cruising lessons provide intermediate-level training for sailors with prior cruising experience. This three-day, two-night course prepares participants to skipper or crew a sloop-rigged auxiliary-powered keelboat between 30 and 45 feet in coastal waters.
The course lasts 3 days and 2 nights, with prices per day plus tax: $1200 for 1 student, $1400 for 2, $1500 for 3, and $1600 for 4 students. Prerequisites include certifications in ASA 101 and ASA 103.
Participants receive instruction and hands-on learning covering piloting, dead reckoning, docking, system troubleshooting, maintenance, navigation, cruise planning, weather forecasting, and overnight anchoring. Two nights are spent onboard the vessel.
The course fee includes logbook, registration, certification fees, and a 1-year ASA membership. This training is ideal for sailors seeking to advance their cruising proficiency and confidence.
