The 3-hour event flows organically with a detailed schedule that varies by season. During winter (October 1 to May 31), guest check-in begins at 5:15 PM, followed by cultural activities at the amphitheater and VIP food stations opening at 5:30 PM. Food service starts at 5:45 PM and concludes by 7:15 PM, after which guests are seated for the main show beginning at 7:30 PM and ending at 9:00 PM.

In summer (June 1 to September 30), the timeline shifts slightly with check-in at 5:45 PM, cultural activities from 5:45 to 6:45 PM, and food service from 6:15 to 7:45 PM. The main show runs from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to fully enjoy the cultural activities, dining, and atmosphere.

The Legendary Story of Hi’iaka

The narrative follows Pele, who falls into a deep trance-sleep and whose spirit travels to Kaua’i, where she falls in love with the chief Lohi’au. Upon awakening, Pele sends Hi’iaka on a perilous quest to retrieve Lohi’au from Kaua’i and bring him back to the volcano. Hi’iaka is accompanied by her magical skirt and companion Wahine’ōma’o, enhancing the rich storytelling experience.
