Haleakala Bike and Brew Tour: Ride and Taste Maui
The Haleakala bike and brew tour offers a unique combination of a self-guided downhill bike ride and an upcountry tasting experience. Starting at Maui Sunriders in Paia, guests receive gear and a safety briefing before a narrated van tour up Haleakala.
Ride Details and Scenic Views
The ride begins at 6,500 feet outside Haleakala National Park and covers a 6.5-mile scenic downhill section. Riders cruise upper switchbacks at their own pace, stopping for photos and panoramic ocean and valley views. The tour includes a second lap of the same section for a total of 13 miles.
Tasting and Shuttle Experience
After biking, participants take a 15-minute shuttle to Lahaina Brewing Co. Upcountry Taproom for a one-hour tasting that includes one drink. Non-alcoholic options are available for guests under 21. Local food trucks are nearby for optional lunch.
The tour concludes with a scenic shuttle back to Paia through Haliimaile, offering sweeping valley and ocean vistas. Bikes are returned at the Paia shop around 1:30 PM.
