The AIDA beginner freedive course in Honolulu is a two-day program focused on safety, relaxation, technique, and confident progression. The course takes place near Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon in Waikiki and costs $425.
Course Duration and Schedule
- Day 1: 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM
- Day 2: 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM
Day 1 includes theory, confined-water training, static and dynamic apnea, recovery breathing, buddy procedures, safety, and rescue skills. Day 2 focuses on supervised open-water depth training with progression based on safety and ability.
Class Size and Learning
- Maximum 6 students on Day 1
- Maximum 4 students on Day 2
Students learn freediving breathing cycles, physiology, equalization, equipment, disciplines, and safety. Confined-water sessions cover apnea techniques and rescue skills, while open-water training practices depth safety and buoyancy.
