For an out-of-this-world experience, Maunakea Stellar Explorer Kona by KapohoKine Adventures is the only Big Island star tour featuring both nighttime astronomical observing and safe daytime solar viewing suitable for all ages. The adventure begins with dinner, followed by solar viewing through a state-of-the-art solar telescope where vibrant solar flares, sunspots, and prominences can be observed, weather permitting.

After sunset, travel across Saddle Road between Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa, two of Earth’s tallest volcanoes. Your National Park Service trained guide will provide in-depth narration on volcanology, geology, history, lava flows, and local flora and fauna.
